Fifty years after leaving the place where he was born, Turkish Cypriot Mehmet Kamil returned to to his village to open a café in the old schoolhouse of Kato Arodes. He says he missed the morning scent of the countryside—the same aroma that marked his childhood. For a village cafe, the menu is simple yet offers variety: coffees of every kind, beer, local wine, homemade bourekia (small traditional pastries) and kattimeria (traditional pancake like sweets), and his signature ekmek kadayifi. (a sweet, syrup-spaked dessert)  At lunchtime you can order meatballs, while several vegan and vegetarian dishes offered are equally satisfying.
