On the site that housed Zakos’ cafe from 1986 until a few years ago, chef Konstantinos Zakos opened Apo Genia se Genia in 2026. Honoring his grandmother’s legacy—her souvlaki, her Cypriot traditional sandwich, snails, homemade sweets, afelia (marinated pork in red wine) and zucchini with eggs—he has created a modern meze house that features traditional dishes from Cyprus and Greece. The menu spans classic grilled items and grandma-style stews, alongside more classic dishes, such as wine‑braised rooster with spaghetti and Gruyère, lemon‑scented rabbit, and poulet with taro.
