A classic spot for to go and have Cypriot souvla (lamb, kid, chicken, or pork), located just before the village of Platania. You’ll also find seasonal meze—such as game, wild mushrooms, and wild asparagus—as well as kleftiko (slow-cooked lamb), village-style sausage, and fresh trout. Mr. Chrysanthi takes the orders and serves whatever is available, no fuss. He often complains that people don’t make reservations, which leads to him running out of food. Yet, customers keep coming back. On Sundays, however, when the place is packed, service can be slow.
